Challange

The challenge I faced as a Senior UX Designer for Carl Zeiss Microscopy was optimizing the user experience for their products, Zen Blue and Zen Core. The existing interface was complex and difficult to navigate, making it challenging for users to access the full range of features and functionality.

To address these issues, I worked closely with the Carl Zeiss team to develop a comprehensive plan that would streamline the interface and improve the user experience. Our main goal was to create a more intuitive and user-friendly interface that would make it easier for users to navigate the complex feature set.

research

As an Senior UX Designer for Carl Zeiss Microscopy, I conducted field studies in Ottawa, Jena, Gent, and Munich to better understand the needs and challenges of our users. These studies allowed us to observe and interact with users directly, gaining valuable insights into their needs and pain points.

By conducting field studies in these key locations, we were able to gather feedback from a diverse range of users and ensure that our solution was tailored to meet the needs of a broad user base. Our focus on direct interaction with users enabled us to identify areas for improvement and create a more efficient and user-friendly interface.

UX Methodes

As a Senior UX Designer for Carl Zeiss Microscopy, I employed a range of methodological approaches to create exceptional user experiences for our customers. These included field studies, usability testing, and rapid prototyping. .

One of the major projects I worked on at Carl Zeiss was the development of Zen Connect, an innovative platform that enables users to control and manage multiple microscopes from a single interface. Through a combination of field studies and usability testing, we were able to identify key pain points and design a solution that was intuitive and user-friendly. .

Another project I contributed to was the development of an E-learning software that allows teachers to access up to 200 microscopes belonging to their students and interact with them individually or in groups. This groundbreaking concept was patented by Zeiss, and I am proud to have played a role in its development.

Development

Throughout all of these projects, I remained committed to a user-centered design approach that prioritized the needs and experiences of Zeiss customers. By working closely with development teams and other stakeholders, I was able to deliver solutions that were both innovative and effective, and that helped Zeiss to remain at the forefront of the microscopy industry.

Result / Fazit

In conclusion, my time as a Senior UX Designer at Carl Zeiss Microscopy was a truly enriching experience. Working closely with the development teams, I was able to contribute to the creation of innovative products that were designed to enhance the user experience.

My main focus was on Zen Connect, Zen Blue Viewer, and the E-learning software. For Zen Connect, I played a key role in designing an intuitive user interface that made it easier for users to connect with their microscopes and access data quickly and efficiently. With Zen Blue Viewer, the team and I worked to create an interactive platform that allowed users to view and manipulate high-resolution images with ease. Finally, I was part of the team that designed the E-learning software, which gave teachers access to up to 200 microscopes and allowed them to interact with their students individually or in groups.

Through my work on these projects, I gained a deep understanding of the importance of user-centered design in this area and the role it plays in creating successful products.
